new! download here “MyMoblinTransformationPack v 3.3”

new Download   here “MyMoblinTransformationPack v 3.2”.

now with “real black like” moblin bar

Uncompress it in a folder you like.

Now we start.

Moblin Transformation pack v3 for Meego 1.1.

Important! This pack is released “as is”. I can assure that it work perfectly on my netbook however I do not assume any liability for damages caused by using this transformation pack.

Below I’ll explain, step by step, how to apply this transformation pack to MeeGo 1.1

1) Open a nautilus session as root.

open the terminal and type:

“sudo nautilus”

Nautilus opens.

2) Navigate to the folder /usr/share/. Rename the folder “mutter-meego” in “mutter-meego-old”. Copy here the folder  “mutter-meego” present in the transformation pack. Once you have copied the folder, right-click on the folder, select properties, then permissions and set permissions so:

Owner – create and delete files
Group – Access to files
Others – Access files.
Click on “apply permissions to files (as fast as you can set permissions from the terminal: chmod-R 744).

3) Go to /usr/share/themes/ folder and copy here the folders “Moblin Netbook” and “Newnetbook” present in the transformation pack
Even here, once you copy the folders, right-click on copied folders, one at a time, select Properties, then permissions and set the permissions so:

Owner – create and delete files
Group – Access to files
Others – Access files.
Click on “apply permissions to files (as fast as you can set permissions from the terminal: chmod-R 744).

4) Go in /usr/share/Meego-panel-devices/theme. Rename the folder power-icon in old-power-icon. Copy here the folder power-icon present in the transformation pack.

5) Go in /usr/share/Meego-panel-myzone/. Rename the folder theme in old-theme. Copy here the folder theme  present in the transformation pack.

6) Go in /usr/share/Meego-panel-networks/. Rename the folder icons in old-icons. Copy here the folder icons present in the transformation pack.

Log out from nautilus in root mode (just close).

7) Restart nautilus in user mode (by typing “nautilus” in terminal), go to your home folder, press the “CTRL + H to show hidden folders. Go to Folder “.icons” (if not present create it) and add the folders “Mynetbook” and “flexmoblin” present in this transformation pack.
Close nautilus.

8) Now in terminal type “gnome-appearance-properties.” Now in the “Themes” select “Moblin Netbook” (if you prefer Moblin style) or “NewNetbook” (if you prefer <meego style with enhriched icons), then click on “customize” and in the tab “pointer”, select “Moblin”.
Restart the netbook.

Now, if you chose “Moblin Netbook” theme,  you will have a moblin look.

In the pack there are a folder “wallpaper” with some nice pics I’ve used. I used as MyZone background cat.png; toys.jpg as background; for system shutdown I’ve used  shutdown-1024×600.png and as a picture of startup system I’ve used splash.png or splash2.png by replacing the default img in the folder /usr/share/plymouth.
I then created people1.png (rename people.png once copied) to replace the default image in /usr/share/Meego-panel-people/theme.
I then created peoplestatus.png (rename people.png once copied) to replace the default image in /usr/share/Meego-panel-status/theme.
I then created peoplezone.png (rename people.png once copied) to replace the default image in /usr/share/Meego-panel-zones.

that’s all. I hope you like my work.

PS: if you encounter problems or forget to change the permissions to changed folders, boot by adding “init 3”  to the boot parameters to boot into text mode and restore the original folders or set right permission to folders.

Ciao.
